From Tirana to Petrela Castle

Summary: Petrela is best known as an afternoon drive for a lunch or coffee. Here,we walk from the stadium in Tirana through the park and over the hills to the restaurant at Petrela castle. The hike is easy but long.

General location and approach: You don't need a vehicle to reach the trailhead. Just start at the stadium, or the park in Tirana. The trail ends at the restaurant in Petrela castle, which offers refreshments and meals. Take the bus back to Tirana.

Other Information: Shortly after leaving Tirana, the hike passes through some fields and gardens. Ask permission from the owners to cross, or walk around them. The trail passess some radio towers on the hills, which is a good stop for a snack.
